Swimming lessons are available to local children, during school term time, from 4 years old and above.  The sessions are held currently at Nanny Cay Pool.

Thanks to the owners and staff of Prospect Reef Resort, we have a safe, poolside area and well maintained water quality to teach in.

As our swim groups are kept to small groups, results are rapid.  The British Amateur Swimming Association standards are upheld and periodic testing and awarding of the equivalent of the ASA ‘Waters Skills’ certificates help the students and their parents see steady progress.

Swimming courses are held within each term and consist of 6-8 either ½ hour or ¾ hour lessons. Most children sign up for several, successive terms - building their confidence and strength in the water.

The centre staff hosted the first BVI Swim Gala on the island in 2000 and is proud of the children that have gained water confidence and developed stroke techniques and stamina during their time with us.

Although we do not require students in our sailing courses to be swimmers
(just confident in the water whilst wearing a buoyancy aid), many children who begin in the swim programme stay with the centre to learn to sail.
